Prohibition on pork eating

Question: Why is there prohibition on pork eating in Islam?

Answer: Bismillah-iRehman-iRaheem

Islam do not permit eating pork. Not only in Islam, but also Christianity in its laws does not permit pork. There are several verses in Quran which prohibits Muslims on eating pork.

Holy Quran States:

1)

He has only forbidden you carrion, blood and pork and what has been consecrated to other than Allah. But anyone who is forced to eat it–without desiring it or going to excess in it–commits no crime. Allah is Ever-Forgiving,
Most Merciful. (2:173)

2)

Forbidden for you are carrion, blood and pork, and what has been consecrated to other than Allah, and animals which have been strangled, and animals which have been killed by a blow, and animals which have fallen to their death, and animals which have been gored, and animals which wild beasts have eaten–except those you are able to slaughter properly–and animals which have been sacrificed on altars, and deciding things by means of divining arrows–that is deviance. Today those who disbelieve have despaired of overcoming your religion. So do not be afraid of them but be afraid of Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you and completed My blessing upon you and I am pleased with Islam as a religion for you. But if anyone is forced by hunger, not intending any wrongdoing, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (5:3)

3)

Say: ‘I do not find, in what has been revealed to me, any food it is forbidden to eat except for carrion, flowing blood, and pork–for that is unclean–or some deviance consecrated to other than Allah. But if anyone is forced to eat it, without desiring to or going to excess in it, your Lord is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ (6:145)

4)

He has forbidden you carrion, blood and pork and anything consecrated to other than Allah. But if someone is forced to eat it, without desiring to or going to excess in it, your Lord is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (16:115)

Pork prohibited in the Bible

The Christian is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures. The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus “And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you”.Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch they are unclean to you.” [Leviticus 11:7-8]

Pork is also prohibited in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy

And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud,it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.”

 [Deuteronomy 14:8]

A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.

Let us see now what is the scientific problems behind eating pork.

Eating of pork can cause no less than seventy different types of diseases. A person can have various helminthes like roundworm, pin worm, hookworm, etc. One of the most dangerous is Taenia Solium, which is in lay man’s terminology called tapeworm. It harbors in the intestine and is very long. Its ova i.e. eggs, enter the blood stream and can reach almost all the organs of the body. If it enters the brain it can cause memory loss. If it enters the heart it can cause heart attack, if it enters the eye it can cause blindness, if it enters the liver it can cause liver damage. It can damage almost all the organs of the body.

Another dangerous helminthes is Trichura Tichurasis.

A common misconception about pork is that if it is cooked well, these ova die.In a research project undertaken in America, it was found that out of twenty-four people suffering from Trichura Tichurasis, twenty two had cooked the pork very well. This indicates that the ova present in the pork do not die under normal cooking temperature.

Pork has very little muscle building material and contains excess of fat. This fat gets deposited in the vessels and can cause hypertension and heart attack. It is not surprising that over 50% of Americans suffer from hypertension.
The pig is one of the filthiest animals on earth. It lives and thrives on muck, and dirt. It is the best scavenger that I know that God has produced. In the villages they don’t have modern toilets and the villagers excrete in the open air. Very often excreta is cleared by pigs. Some may argue that in advanced countries like Australia, pigs are bred in very clean and hygienic conditions. Even in these hygienic conditions the pigs are kept together in sties. No matter how hard you try to keep them clean they are filthy by nature. They eat and enjoy their own as well as their neighbor’s  excreta.
The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say “you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife.”
This is most common thing is so called civilized world and these kind of things happens because of eating pork. Eating pig makes people to behave like pigs.
As explained before Both the Bible and the Qur’an prohibit the eating of pork. Muslims are of this prohibition and observe it strictly. Hover, most readers of the Bible say they do not know where they can find this in the Bible. In the book of Leviticus, ch 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.” This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork. Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they say they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said this because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with all its commandments and regulations.

He seems, however, to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law…” Jesus then went on in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would break the smallest commandment and teach others likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the commandments, as we have seen, is to stay away from pork. This is why the true followers of Jesus, holding on to his teachings, did not let unclean food such as pork enter their mouths, so that Peter, the chief disciple can say, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” (Acts of the Apostles, ch 10, v. 14). Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with them.

Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v 25, their decision to impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them. What remains, then is that Jesus (on whom be peace) upheld the prohibition against pork. His disciples also upheld it, and so must all his followers. Those who fail to uphold it need to be informed and reminded of this rule from God. This is one reason why God sent His final messenger, on whom be peace, God says: “O people of the Scripture!

Now has Our Messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which you used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now has come unto you light from Allah and a plain Scripture.” (The Meaning of the Glorious Qur’an 5:15).

  1. IS FAITH BLIND TO REALITY? BY STEVE FINNELL

Is Christianity based on blind faith? Absolutely not. Christianity is based on the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:3-8 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. (NKJV)

    Other historical references: Acts 1:3, Mark 16:12-14, Matthew 28:17, Luke 24:34-36, John 20:18-19, John 20:24-29, John 212:14, Acts 13:29-31.

ALL HISTORY IS BASED ON FAITH

In order to believe that World War I occurred you have to accept the historical account by faith.

In order to believe that there was a civil war between the states and that Abraham Lincoln was president you have to believe it by faith based on the written historical accounts.

In order to believe the genealogy of your family you have faith that the historical records are true.

In order to believe that the following men lived and died you have to have faith that the historical accounts are accurate. Ludwig van Beethoven, Martin Luther, Buddha, Zoroaster, Napoleon Bonaparte, Confucius, Socrates, Christopher Columbus, Aristotle, John Locke, Alexander the Great, and Julius Caesar.

ALL HISTORICAL BELIEF IS BASED ON FAITH THAT THE FACTS ARE TRUE.

I believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by God the Father because I have faith that the historical accounts of the Bible are true.
